3 Apple Cider Martini Recipes

It was a rainy, blustery fall day yesterday, just perfect for having over some friends and doing a taste test for some apple cider drinks. I thought I'd make something hot as a hot toddy in a mug, however, we decided that a cool martini was in order after all.

It was an adventuresome bunch (always recommended for your friends...) so we busted out the different ideas that we had.  We figured having a three in one recipe posting might give you some options with what you might have on hand in the booze department. You might also try Vanilla Vodka, or Pumpkin Pie Vodka as delicious options too.

We did try the Caramel Apple Martini hot and it was delicious, but tasted dangerous in the fact that it didn't taste hardly boozy at all when warmed... that means be careful.  If you do decide to do hot drinks, heat the apple cider on its own, then add the booze to the hot mug of cider.

I would recommend using apple cider with no sugar added, or these drinks could be too sweet for some people.

One note, a "jigger" is nothing more than a measuring device, like a shot glass.
2 oz capacity is right for a jigger, a shot glass, or a 1/4 cup measuring cup to get your ratios correct.

Caramel Apple Martini
1/2 cup apple cider
1 jigger spiced rum
1/2 jigger butterscotch schnapps liqueur

Baked Apple Martini
1/2 cup apple cider
1 jigger maple Crown Royal

Apple Pie Martini
1/2 cup apple cider
1 jigger fire ball

Mix the ingredients for your recipe of choice in an ice filled martini shaker.... shake, shake, shake and strain into a glass.  Garnish with an apple slice, or cinnamon stick, if desired.
You could also make a cinnamon sugar mixture to dip your glass rims into. I just didn't have time for that...

I like the way the wind blew a beautiful assortment of fall leaves right to my front door step.
Happy Fall everyone!
